Getting Started
Get your personal AI assistant running in just a few steps.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, you'll need:
- An AutoClaw account — Sign up here
- An AI provider API key — Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI
Step 1: Sign Up
Create your AutoClaw account at autoclaw.io/signup.
You can sign up with:
- Email and password
- Google OAuth
- GitHub OAuth
Step 2: Connect Your AI Provider
After signing up, connect your preferred AI provider:
- Go to Settings → API Keys
- Add your Anthropic or OpenAI API key
- AutoClaw will validate the key and show available models
Note: AutoClaw supports bring-your-own-key (BYOK) so you maintain full control over your AI costs and usage.
Step 3: Deploy
Click the Deploy button. AutoClaw will:
- Provision a cloud server for you
- Install the latest stable OpenClaw release
- Configure Tailscale networking for secure access
- Set up the Gateway with hardened defaults
- Start your AI agent
This typically takes 2-3 minutes.
Step 4: Start Chatting
Once deployed, you can immediately start chatting via the built-in WebChat interface:
- Click Open Dashboard to access the OpenClaw control UI
- Navigate to WebChat
- Start talking to your AI assistant
Step 5: Configure Skills (Optional)
AutoClaw comes with a curated set of vetted skills. To add more:
- Go to Skills in your dashboard
- Browse available skills
- Click Enable on the ones you want
- For OAuth-based skills (Gmail, GitHub), click Connect to authorize
